Lessons from the life of Joseph

A few lessons from the life of Joseph1
1. The Abrahamic covenant was upon Joseph. No man in Christ is purposeless; Every believer is under the Abrahamic covenant. There's a divine purpose every born again person has to fulfill and God has given us the power(ability) as sons to fulfil this God-given purpose.
For Joseph, his purpose was to be a deliverer; to deliver all men from death through famine.

2. God always make known his will concerning his children. So many persons in the quest to know their purpose always beat about the bush, thinking God hides this from them. Discovering your Purpose is one of the easiest things God can reveal to you. In Joseph's case, the Lord showed him who he was(his purpose) in a dream.

Genesis 37:7KJV
37:7 For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf.

37:9 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.

God's way of speaking in the time of old was majorly via night visions, via prophets, via signs cos they never had the indwelling Spirit of God unlike in our day where God has spoken via HIS Word and still speaks in a quiet voice to our heart via HIS Spirit. Joseph never had a clear understanding of this dream but he knew the mantle of rulership was upon him.

3. In fulfilling your God-given purpose, the enemy(Satan) will always stir up his messengers(discouragement, persecutions and afflictions, temptations) across your way to sway you off balance. He does this to make your Faith in God weak thus destroying your destiny.
In Joseph's case, it was the wife of one who favoured him(potiphar) that stood as Satan's messenger. Had Joseph fallen to her gimmicks, he would have opted out of his destiny!

In your journey to fulfilling your purpose, what will keep you on track is the Fear of God!
