WHAT IS THE SIGNIFICANCE OF CHRIST'S DEATH & HIS RESURRECTION ?
Why did Jesus die?
Did he taste death to give the world a mere religion, one that'll exalts morality and sanctity across thousands of years to come, or he did cos there was a failed plan in his quest to become the greatest activist Israel ever saw?
Did he die so he could just cement his name in the sands of time, or he died for nothing ?
What's the core reason behind the death of Christ? The essence of his death and his resurrection?
His life was a display of sinless perfection right from childhood, to teen age, to his youth, denying himself of soulish and physical pleasures, embracing absolute celibacy and having his body & mind totally subjected under the government of his Spirit.
His unfailingly yieldedness to God in obedience, even unto death.
Living 33 years knowing fully well he'll be betrayed, denied, flogged, spat on, walked the streets of Jerusalem to Golgotha naked and then condemned to die on the cross just for those whose crucified him.
Why will one choose this kind of life ?
He did for you. He lived to die so you can have Life. This Life he gives is not the Human life which can be subjected to decay, corruption, sickness, diseases.
This Life is Divine, an incorruptible one springing up beyond eternity.
It's the Life that defies, conquers death, one that defeats the forces of hell and the grave.
Our Lord didn't just die to take away the sins of the world, but to bring lost souls in reconciliation and companionship with His Heavenly Father and by this make many Sons (carriers of the Divine life he carried).
His resurrection is the Zenith of the Christian life.
Jesus's body died a natural death but he rose with a spiritual body.
His death was to the natural, carnal man a shame but his body was raised by the Glory of the Father, the greatest display of God's Glory & Power to the world.
His body was sown in weakness but raised with Power.
What then is the effect of His glorious resurrection to you?
His resurrection has given you a positional advantage over all things (whether physical or spiritual, whether seen or unseen).
You as a believer who has been baptized by identification into his death & been raised into the resurrection have also been engrafted into Power, Glory and Strength.
Every dead thing in your life comes alive. That failing marriage, that long time unemployment, that low or zero source of income, that abject lack & poverty, that terminal sickness and disease receives the impact of the resurrection and life the more you commune with the Father in the Spirit.
All old, ugly, bad things becomes bright & new in your life.
The dry, unfruitful, unproductive ground of your life becomes a fertile & watered garden.
As we celebrate Easter, we must also understand the impact of what Christ Did and the effect of his resurrection in the daily life of every believer.
